- Post: Section Controller
- Pay Level: Level 6 (7th CPC)
- Initial Pay: ₹35,400/-
- Total Vacancies: 368 (Zone-wise details in Annexure-B)
- Medical Standard: A-2 (strict vision & physical requirements, LASIK not allowed)
- Age Limit: 20–33 years as of 01.01.2026
- Relaxations: OBC (3 yrs), SC/ST (5 yrs), PwBD (10–15 yrs), ExSM, Women (special cases), etc.
🔹 Important Dates
- Indicative Notice: 23.08.2025
- Publication on RRB websites: 14.09.2025
- Application window: 15.09.2025 – 14.10.2025 (23:59 hrs)
- Fee Payment (Online only): up to 16.10.2025 (23:59 hrs)
- Modification window: 17.10.2025 – 26.10.2025 (₹250 fee per correction)
- Scribe details submission: 27.10.2025 – 31.10.2025
- Exam dates (CBT/CBAT): to be announced separately on RRB websites.
🔹 Eligibility
- Education: Graduation from a recognized university (as on closing date).
- Nationality: Indian citizen or as per rules (Nepal, Bhutan, Tibetan refugee pre-1962, PIOs from certain countries with GOI eligibility certificate).
- Age: As per the limits above (DOB range 02.01.1993–01.01.2006 for UR).
🔹 Selection Process
- Computer Based Test (CBT) – Single stage
- Negative marking: ⅓ per wrong answer
- Normalisation applied for multi-shift exams
- Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT)
- Shortlisting: 8x number of vacancies from CBT
- Final merit: 70% CBT + 30% CBAT (only those who pass CBAT considered)
- Document Verification (DV) & Medical Exam
- Ratio: 1:1 against vacancies
- Strict medical standards (A-2 vision)
🔹 Application Process
- Mode: Online only via official RRB websites
- One RRB only: Multiple applications → disqualification
- Create an Account: Mandatory before applying (Aadhaar/DigiLocker verification preferred)
- Photo/Signature: Live photo required, signature in running hand only
- Corrections: Allowed (except RRB choice, email, phone) within modification window
🔹 Examination Fee
- General/UR/EWS/Others: ₹500
- Refund: ₹400 (on appearing for CBT)
- SC/ST, Women, Transgender, ExSM, PwBD, EBC, Minority: ₹250
- Refund: ₹250 (on appearing for CBT)
- Mode: Online (UPI, NetBanking, Cards) only
🔹 Reservation
- Vertical: SC, ST, OBC-NCL, EWS as per rules
- Horizontal: PwBD & Ex-Servicemen
- Special Notes:
- OBC certificates must be issued after 01.04.2025 and before 14.10.2025
- EWS requires valid Income & Asset certificate (FY 2024–25 basis)
- Community status at closing date only considered
🔹 Additional Instructions
- Impersonation, malpractices, or unfair means → lifetime debarment + legal action
- Banned items in exam hall: mobiles, gadgets, watches, food, bags, pens (pen provided in hall)
- Free sleeper-class travel for SC/ST candidates (with caste certificate)
- Candidates must undergo training post-selection; only stipend paid during training
- Posting & transfers as per Railway administration; initial posting binding
